Jacob and Mandy Palma were appointed to Uruguay in 2012. In their first term, they planted the first UPCI church in Uruguay’s southwestern region in the city of San José de Mayo. While there, they organized various outreach programs, including a children’s food center, which provided food and Sunday school for unreached children in underprivileged neighborhoods. After handing the church over to another pastoral family, they moved to the capital city, Montevideo, where they now direct the Bible college and travel throughout the country ministering to and encouraging churches and pastoral families. Jacob serves as Area Coordinator of the Southern Cone (Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile), and together, Jacob and Mandy are the Short-Term Missions representatives for the South America Region.
